Welcome to this course on CoDeSys PLC programming tutorial for beginners. My name is Seysedreza, I’m an automation engineer and I will be your teacher for the course.

I am so glad and excited to consider getting more information about the course. I would like to assure you that studding this course is going to be the most exciting and fun educational course you have had.

In this course, you will learn a brief definitions and features of the IEC 61131-3 standard that dictates PLC roles internationally.

Then you will learn the basics of programming patterns for automation applications.

In the first step, I will show you how to start working with Codesys software to define a project and start editing your first program.

In the second step, I will go over Codesys instruction sets and I will explain how an instruction should be used to write a PLC program properly.

In the third step, we will have a lot of test programming examples to show you how to use the most used programming instructions.  Most of the test programming examples will have a graphical simulation of an industrial application that will help you understand all the concepts by seeing with your eyes the results of your programming.

We will learn about 5 PLC Programming languages and software structures which are:  standard Ladder Logic Diagram (LD), Function block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text language (ST), Continuous Function Chart (CFC) and Sequential Faction Chart (SFC).

I will show you how to link Codesys to Factory I/O software to write and simulate PLC programs to help you understand all the concepts by viewing the execution of your programs because it is very important for any PLC programmer to test complete functionally of his programs before executing them on any automation field with real PLCs.

Also, I will show you how to link Codesys to Factory I/O and visualization environment to create a graphical simulation of test programs.

I will take all the necessary steps to edit test programs: you just need to pay attention to learn and just to follow those steps on your own to learn.

You don’t need to have any previous knowledge to use this course. Some electronics or computer science knowledge might help but all you need is a technical mentality and the desire and passion to learn.

Many companies look for PLC programmers on a daily basis and this is a career that may lead to many job opportunities. At the end of this course, you will be able to program PLCs on your own and make your way into the industrial automation field.
