A wandering dog and the mosque
Once upon a time, Rumi was passing by a mosque. Rumi saw the servant of the mosque was beating a dog that had entered the mosque and the dog was yelping and barking very badly.
Rumi opened the door letting the dog escape. The cleric of the mosque met with Rumi to argue: “why did you open the door, I wanted to beat the dog so much to ensure that it should never to get back here again”.
Rumi said, “O man, the man of disbelief, the dog has no reason or wisdom and comes to the mosque from an unbeliever, we who have a reason, do you ever see us in the mosque?
